Refined sugar is severely processed, which is why I don't even have it in my house. Not to mention that white sugar is void of any nutrition. Maple syrup is high in manganese and zinc, which boost the immune system. White sugar inhibits the immune system. The original recipe I had called for 1 2/3 cups sugar. Wow! Let me know if you try it! :)Bethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06592259141337496951noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8829723287071366487.post-49750301132978954052010-09-02T04:40:05.617-07:002010-09-02T04:40:05.617-07:00hi Beth...thanks for sharing this. I make zucchini brownies but this looks much nicer and more nutritious. but if using the Maple Syrup doens't that usually have MORE calories than sugar?? just wondering....I do substitute apple sauce for canola oil often times and when using apple sauce I often don't need the amount of sugar a typical recipe calls for (like homemade muffins) I wanna try this bread as an after school snack!!Faithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06608258814596465122noreply@blogger.com
